If you want to romance anyone whilst you pretend Kirito doesn't exist, just play HR, skip the story, and forget that youre MC is actually Kirito regardless of the character creation. At least for me, HR is far more enjoyable that way and in that one you can actually simulate dates with an assortment of NPCs.
Damn son, I couldn't have said it better myself. The story is not exactly good (I'd dare say it sucks ass ) and the best "romance" I've seen so far is with my sex bot... I mean ArFa-Sys; but to be honest I've not really tried romancing someone else (in fact I only did it so I could access her customisation menu).
Honestly you can't expect some good "romance" options on a game that gives you "Sure" and "Alright" as your only two choices many times in the story.
I'd like to remind you that they stated from the verry beggining, this was "OUR STORY". So yeah the story is not ours and it sucks ass with a passion, but at least the gameplay is great.
The game still have to follow some facts from the anime which has (its harem aspects), but must be properly informed in the game. Otherwise the game wouldn't have SAO. Also the reason why those characters are good because YOU WATCHED THE ANIME. Without it they would be cardboards or filler to the plot. And this is coming from someone who loves sinon.Now the girls around kirito , as you problem know already, are drawn to him because of thier long relationship with him. Are you expecting us to pop in and imediately have someone who likes kirito to shift towards us? Seriously bruh.
Now when it says our story, meaining we're being inserted into the plot. That doesnt make it a good reason to screw up thier part of the story. We were given a part in the plot instead of being kirito. We were technically in it. Now I dont think the story is perfect but I definitely prefer being my own person instead of kirito. So yea you dont have to remind me anything. Dont like how you cant sleep with the sao character in the anime? Welp thats just you being a fan of them.

Ok so are you saying we should have them reaching 2nd base with multiple people? And how am I weeb when I'm stating a fact that games/movies should follow. Im arguing if the game is referencing a story thats already created, it needs to maintaince consistnacy. We could be talking about a sequal, series or watchever and I would still say the same thing.
If we start banging asuna, liseth, alice, etc, would it make any sense in thier mentality during Phantom Bullet or Alicization? But its our story right so we can do whatever we want right?
Philia is technically Kirito's girl but we can get to 2nd base with her because it would affect the cannon story. Im not big fan on this but this conversation seems to be revolving around bed scenes which conflicts with the story.
If someone was asking oh why cant we kill deathgun, I would give the same reason. If someone was asking about any story, doesnt even have to be a anime, and why cant it be this or that, well its gonna respect the story. Now there are some changes like sinon knowing kirito prior to BoB. That didnt really change anything too much compared to the original plot. But apperently SAO has a implied harem revolving around kirito. Not a big fan but it is what it is. If Kirito didnt have a cringy harem durign that time then I guess its ok.
Im just giving a reason why they did that. Don't like it? Dont get salty around me lol. I'm not forcing you to accept it. Im not changing my views either unless you provide a legit counter arguement.
