Is there an assault rifle better than the Sylph Type A?
Was curious about this, as the Sylph seems to shred things when dual wielding + enhanced/transformed, but haven't really tested much of the others.

Alphubel and Lupus 3. My Lupus does 1200-2000 per weak spot hit. And from what i heard Alphubel is the best Assault rifle in the game but also the most annoying to get legendary.
Also Lupus 3 is an optical burst rifle with range.

Do you remember the locations to farm those? I remember seeing a Japanese website that shows where the drops were but I forgot what the site is called.

Don't remember for Lupus 3 and for Alphubel is from Abyss Guide in the final forgotten woods.

Lupus 3, as with Sirius 3 and other great guns ... can only drop from enemy player AI's. Which SUCKS for legendary drops. Alphubel is the easier route to go for a solid AR with high rpm.

Edit: Why them optic guns gotta be so difficult to get?

I just went with concession prize Midou Type since none of the others ever want to drop for me.

Lupus 3 is the best choice for pseudo-sniping for sure since the bullet spread at range is amazing compared to the others.
LMG Kumtag+ is probably the best overall though since you won't run out of ammo while unloading during a downed-enemy window when they're taking 2x normal weak dmg on their weak points.

If you were using a Kumtag+ on Abyss Guide when he's superdowned, you'd probably take out over half his HP thanks to the ammo cap on that thing. With my puny Midou though I run out and have to reload losing about 2 seconds of hyper dps. I think they only get super-downed once per fight, or there's a timer on it. Subsequent downs will be only be for a few seconds total instead of the almost 10 seconds the first time.

Except the damage evens out-- if i'm not mistaken, while Kumtag has a base of 100 rounds, it has low RPM. If we're talking about Raw DPS, there are far better choices. What's the point of using Assault Rifle, when a player can just dual wield Doverie, use Handgun Arts, and spam the ever-living hell out of Quick Shot 2 and 3? The burst damage is more than ridiculous.

Yeah it should even out over time, but I'm guessing when we view the dps (reload) in the spreadsheet we're looking at power:rpm:clip:reloadtime. If the reload time doesn't occur during the downed period for one weapon, that weapon may end up being higher dps for that short event then leave you reloading after the enemy is back up.

I gotta max my pistol expertise soon so I'll go grab a Doverie I guess, I've got a Procyon green, but the damage on skills seemed atrocious with that 143 power when I checked it out.
