not really, you can always skip the cut scenes with him in it. the game makes fun of kirito too.
you don't have to use him. and no, the story is a side story. happens sometimes after Alicization (?)
This game is more about you and your waifu (well, the AI).
Edit: and your childhood friend too.
I guarantee you will dislike this game after you buy it.
My feeling about this game is:
1. The combat is very not pleasant.
2. The story is okay.
3. Complicated menu system and might grind.
for example: in the game it will not show you where to find those materials.
Well if you are a casual player like me, you might like this.
But remember combat is not very nice, at some point you might even asking yourself why you bought this.
I dislike SAO I'll say that right now, and frankly this game's pretty decent
its got its strong points as a looter shooter
but its weak story brings it back down...
if you treat this as a mindless grinding game where you just turn your brain off, put on some music of your choice and just getting in some farming done feels pretty cozy...
Also, not a ton of Kirito, so youre fine there. I'd say shop around and see if you can get it on sale for cheap, or wait until it's on sale on Steam so you can refund it if it isnt your jam.
It is in a nice bundle at Humble Bundle right now and even cheaper on other stores cause of the Humble Bundle sale right now, so I was thinking about it. Guess I'll be buying it later then.
The one that's separate from SAO entirely besides a few references, which are mostly toward
this game. When I played this I was waiting on the edge of my seat until they made a appearance!
First of all, the games are awfully written. They're nothing but harem fan fiction (even Fatal Bullet with its focus on very poor character development, laughably bad written dialogue). Even the core of the stories is terrible and getting to the meat of the bone is unbearable cuz you gotta endure unnecessary banter (cuz again, it's a harem fan fiction). Tbh, the GGO arch of the anime is much better than the story the game tries to tell, which is saying a lot since the GGO arch had its problems.
So, as someone who also doesn't like SAO but loves the ♥♥♥♥ out of Fatal Bullet, I'd just recommend to skip every cutscene you can. Unlike Hollow Realization, you can hit start and skip cutscenes entirely (except for the sleepover, which you gotta rush by mashing A or B on the controller). If you didn't care about these characters before, this game will do nothing to change your mind.
As far as gameplay goes, Fatal Bullet is actually a pretty decent looting RPG with shooting mechanics. Controls aren't as responsive as they should be at times (for example, after using a skill you HAVE to wait until its animation is fully finished to use another skill or do anything else that's not walking), but once you learn when animations end and adapt to use skills and do other actions when you won't be swarmed by attacks mid-animation, it's actually quite fun.
I'd compare the gameplay loop to The Division, actually (maybe a controversial stance, but there you go). Having played nearly 200h of both FB and TD1 (and currently playing the sequel), I find the two to be similar in some ways. Ofc, The Division is much more polished cuz Bandai doesn't put too much effort into SAO games.
Anyway, I digress. Yeah, you can find enjoyment in this game even though you don't like SAO. If I can do it and I can't stand these characters, then anyone else can.
If you think you'de enjoy an offline MMO (cuz FB doesn't simulate an MMO all that well), Hollow Realization might be perfect as well. Problem there is that you can't skip any cutscenes (gotta smash the buttons instead) and gameplay is actually worse than FB's but not so bad that the game is terrible or anything. Both are deeply flawed but they can be enjoyable if you're able to get over some of those flaws.
I am glad you're at least getting a little enjoyment out of it.
Not to mention, no buyers remorse!
you to configure a .INI file.
just don't do it
its not wurth
it makes the AI beyond bullsh*t
see the game wasn't built to run at 60 FPS so the AI basically gets a steroids when that happens, they become aimbot worthy at this point flick-headshots almost non-stop and instanteously
the game just generally breaks when running at 60 FPS, you get to see some crazy crap...thats NOT meant to happen
for example, there's a enemy called the "Vandal" or something, deathclaw looking wannabe,
That guy has a charge attack where he preps for a charge and then runs at you with his horn down
now on 30 FPS the guy goes a fair distance
on 60 FPS he accelerates so much he litterally goes from one end of a open world map to the other in a single charge
60 FPS was put in because peoples would obviously start begging for it if it wasn't in by default and with that you get to see why some games don't do it, stuff breaks, almost catastrophically so...
MLG players...I am actually really relieved this is not how it's supposed to be.
and yet thoses are small time
just wait until you get to the really b*llsh*t ennemies, THEN it'll be a show...
