DLC Necessary?
Am I missing out anything notable if I just go with the standard edition?

Apart from story/quests it would be the weapons that come with it.

Kinda. The game's pretty short without the dlcs and you will only be able to get the highest rank weapon on online co-op.

i just bought this game today i would say buy the complete edition is better because of the discount ,rather than buying the game and dlc 1 by 1 later its cost more than the bundle one.

If you wanna get to level 300 and farm the strongest weapons, you're gonna need the DLCs. Unless you got someone to carry you through level farming on online co-op, I guess. Otherwise, you're gonna need to farm in single player and the base game doesn't have enough content to get you to level 300.

I bought the the complete edition back in may on the ps4 while it was on sale and got 2 older sao games in it for 20 bucks.

To be honest the dlc content itself is not worth even 10 bucks. Everything is recycled and the 2 new bosses are not worth it. I did play the base game on steam and it was fun enough.

Sadly all the newer content you get is balanced on the aim glitch with the pistol weapon art so you're kinda forced to run at least one Long Stroke Type Z and exploit that glitch for the hc dlc content.(α,β,γ hc missions) because otherwise the bosses hp values are just absurd. I am not talking about a difference of 10-20sec per kill it's more like a ~1min kill versus a 7-10min kill if you do not run that setup.

Sure those missions are normaly for 4 players but no sane person does play them with randoms because of all the oneshot mechanics and only 4 shared lives. In the end everyone does solo them because it's a 100% success rate instead of a 0,001% one with randoms.

This is confusing to me. Sure, none of the DLCs is great, but each of the season pass ones adds a whole new dungeon, which is a lot more than other season passes from other games have been worth. Each dungeon has one new boss variant with a harder version becoming available once you clear the DLC, so you have a total of six new bosses if you count the harder variants. Dissonance of the Nexus has two new bosses also with their own harder variants, not to mention there's a whole map and two new dungeons, one with a second phase of sorts and the other being the most interesting in the game (even though its puzzles are ridiculously simplistic, at the very least they're a change of pace from all other dungeons up to that point).

It's not like the content spread throughout the base game is revolutionary to begin with, so all the DLCs fit just right. And as I mentioned, you pretty much need them if you want to get to level 300 and farm the strongest weapons if you don't have anyone to carry you through online co-op. You could farm enemy players up to 300 on base game, but none of them will drop anything as strong as the stuff you get on the DLCs, which sort of turns the whole process in the least efficient way to grind as growth isn't consistent.
