I started playing through it and it's kind of fun. Just think of it as a break from the normal routine and only do a little at a time.
As for the counter-intuitive objectives, they help the player manually focus on different aspects of the game like the cut direction or the combo counter that you might otherwise just ignore in order to rely on instinct. Again, this is for new players. If you have over 100 hours in the game already, it's going to seem dumb.
For people who already played a lot I'm sure it's very boring in the beginning, but that's just a downside of getting into the early access.
Exactly. I can't do Expert+ yet but got a few done on Expert. But I rather enjoy the slower pacing at the start, and changing up the rules in some of them like the arrows disappearing.
Its definitely not for everyone that has been playing a lot of hours in the game. Its a better way for newcomers to really get into the game and get a feel for everything gradually.
This is Early Access, so some things they add will be for the new players that will come once the game officially launches.
Not every feature will always be for everyone. That is a given in nearly every game.
Or - don't assign difficulty levels to it, and let me choose the difficulty I want. That's how difficulty level typically work after all. It's almost like experienced players shouldn't be forced to play through a tutorial that's hours long just to get to content they want to play.
I really don't see how being told to purposefully fail helps new players improve. Many of these objectives have a maximum ceiling on your performance - and if you do too well you fail out. Teaching players to do the wrong thing isn't a helpful tutorial.
There have got to be some better ways of "spicing it up." The Min movement or Max movement was a good idea, changing it up so that it's only 1 saber, sure. Asking me to miss? Dumb.
I don't even mind grinding through some Easy Normal and Hard songs.
I feel like this is a lot of repeat of what everyone else said, but the more people that chime in the better. The Devs should know that the career mode is welcome, but needs some re-work.
Maybe they could let you choose where you "start" in the campaign so you don't have to do a bunch of Easy stuff, but I'm having a hard time thinking of how they could dynamically adjust the campaign difficulty as-is.
Complains
The campaing offers some challenge for experienced players by forcing you to play in ways you arent used to
Complains.
