Because it still sells at the current asking price.

I've gotten more enjoyment and playtime per cent out of this game than any other game in my library, by far.

Just as Steel mentioned this game has the most replay value for me, over 120 hours at this point. You should also try and map a song and then you will appreciate how much work goes into it. Not to mention the musical artists are also compensated for their work with every purchase.

I was waiting for the winter sale but was determined to still buy it even if it doesn't go on sale. The game may look cheap by the cover but the moment you try it you will realize it's worth every cent.
Still the developer should have been kind enough to offer at least some minimal discount during the holidays.

Yeah, it's quite cheap and infinitely fun comparing to other types of great cardio training. Actually I've bought it twice (Steam and Oculus Quest store) and don't regret a minute. This game can live 10 years and not become old if the modding support will be as strong as it is now.

I'm going to agree with you, mainly because I've put in more custom songs and content than the developer.

So thankful the devs are spending all their time making DLC for things we all were doing the opposite of hoping for. Thank christ we have Imagine a Dragon, and Band That Sucks DLC--but it took them four ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years to make multiplayer?
$20 seems more fair, without the multiplayer OP has it on the nose: This is a $10 game and you all drank the Kool Aid.

Instead of over $100 worth of DLC that if you don't own in multiplayer you get kicked out of the match they need workshop support that doesn't break because they added a new music pack. Modding is the only reason to play and they don't even have a good editor. The songs I play are modded and the editor I use is fan made. it should not be $30 if the only reason is modding.

Well, to answer the question directly, your opinion is simply wrong. Since when is $30 for a game "expensive"? I have over 300 hours into it. Dollar for hour, it's one of the cheapest games in my VR library.

Because without mods it's really not worth it. If they add workshop support then it is

I agree with SilentCaay here.

Most VR games are like demos with very simple gameplay which doesn't require much of a skill. And this game is all about skill. Here I'm paying knowing that I'll spend thousands of hours in it, and if I buy HL:Alyx for example I can run it maybe 2 playthroughs spending 15 hours in total and that's about it. Though HL:Alyx is still really great game nevertheless, for me it costs inadequately high due to low replay ability. Don't think anything in VR can compare by replay ability and skill development to Beat Saber.

And why bother about workshop when modding is as simple as downloading and running one app and joining BSMG discord where everything is nicely organised if you still lacking something? Hope they never force modding through workshop as it will mean end of free custom songs due to licensing issues...

The massive success of the PSVR version proves you wrong. Also, I know it's shocking, but the majority of people don't mod even on PC. Most people just want to buy a game and play it. If this game weren't worth playing without mods then it wouldn't have massively positive reviews. It also wouldn't have anyone playing the multiplayer since you can't use modded songs with multiplayer. Yet people play multiplayer.

the game totally cant stand on its own legs if the base game was £1.99 with no songs might be worth it and to be fair there should be something like that but you wont see it cause money, sold out to facebook cause money so go figure there has been no improvements since 1.6, pointless 360 got added thats doesnt work no real custom maps for 360 either, 90 maps dont work cause maps dont flow while they are twisting, new dlc is major bs update have fun, just to show you the crap in game menu's, menu made worse in the recent updates, and the game is now aimed at the kiddywinks (solo play button) so dont expect much from the base game at all. modding makes this game the game it is.

people not modding probably have never played the custom songs, but look at the modded side and the noodle maps, wall maps ect and you will see all the good stuff compared to the bad base game maps they keep throwing on us as "major" updates maybe they should update the base game maps before trying to sell us maps cause if base game is anything to go buy i aint ever any dlc lmao sucks that people actually buy the bad things

multiplayer has been there for a year before it was added to the official game, it was a mod, the new multiplayer already has custom lobby and custom song support 3weeks after the update so your late on that, not even gonna mention the fact i couldnt even join a multiplayer lobby base game cause connection error on a fresh install

I'm not talking about mod multiplayer. People are playing base game multiplayer. That's the point. If the base game weren't worth playing, nobody would be playing it. Not a difficult concept.
Soto Jan 13, 2021 @ 4:06pm
If only the base game existed then yeah $10. Except there's mods and multiplayer that are supported and make it worth the $30.

The DLC is a complete rip-off though. Hell most of the beatmaps are worse then the free ones that were made.
