My first E+ song was Escape from OS1. Back when they added E+ to the game that was my favorite song. Despite being able to complete Expert difficulty without missing a single block it took me most of the night to finish E+ for the first time.
These days I play E+ on almost every song with fast mode and disappearing arrows enabled. The only exceptions are the new Camellia songs, as those are simply too fast for me to handle with fast mode on. I've almost managed Crystallized a few times, but the surge around 3/4 of the way through always gets me.
Personally, anything less than a sped up E+ song just isn't all that much fun because it's too slow and too simple. I'm at the point where I can mentally keep up with the incoming information, but my body (and the VR hardware itself) simply can't. I regularly miss 9-10 notes out of a thousand simply because the VR hardware's tracking fails at those speeds, and if I go any faster than that (such as a sped up Camellia song) I get tired quickly and start making mistakes.
I dont know like how on earth do you go on about it? Cause most of the times they appear faster than i can swing my arms honestly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMs8IhI4pec
When it comes to mod songs, difficulty will vary wildly. I've seen some E+ mod songs I couldn't even begin to attempt, and I've seen others I wouldn't rate above Expert. That one isn't too terribly complex, but it is reasonably fast (comparable to most of the stock E+ songs on fast mode). It's not one I'd particularly like personally, mainly because I dislike the rapid up/down sections.
When it comes to learning to play at those levels, it really comes down to practice and honing your reflexes. Don't memorize maps - you should be able to go into a brand new map (like that one) and just nail it on the first attempt. A skilled player doesn't remember the map, they just react as things come at them.
That reaction time is the result of playing steadily more complex and faster maps until you reach the point where you can do this. Keep pushing and eventually you'll get there.
I never played the lower difficulties though, maybe for the first hour or so but the rest has been on custom songs on Expert. Then after taking a break I come back and see this insane breakneck speed on what used to be the most simple songs on Expert. I'm sorry if I seem like someone who is just hating for no reason, Like I mentioned earlier I'll happily admit that it's probably just me who sucks at the game all of a sudden, I just don't see the fun aspect of the game when you don't have any time at all to even register what is coming at you. On Expert sure it's fast but you can still somewhat manage to see what the next notes will be if that makes sense
Some songs on Osu!..... I feel your pain lmfao
This is an old clip by me but that was back when I played a lot on Expert
Made this example video for the people in this discussion thread, to show what my issue is
Those are certainly doable, and that's not even a terribly difficult map.. but you're reacting to the blocks far too slowly. You ask how you're supposed to see it.. and the answer is just practice. Your brain will naturally acclimate to the task, and eventually you'll find yourself reacting to blocks without even actively thinking about it. Right now you're taking a moment to think/plan/whatever between blocks instead of flowing freely from one motion to the next.
Another issue is that you seem to be returning your sabers to a rest position at least some of the time. After say, a downward swing, you'll raise your saber back up to a position in front of you. The Expert level songs train you to do that because they give you so much empty space between blocks. E+ songs tend to not have that - a good E+ song is like a dance, with one move flowing right into the next to the point that you almost don't even need to see the blocks because the moves are just so intuitive. I'm guessing you're right handed, because your left hand does this much more often. If you leave your sabers in whatever position they were last in you'll almost always find that the next move requires you to swing from that position. Maps occasionally throw in a curve ball that is the exception to this rule, but that's rare (at least in my experience, though I do tend to intentionally avoid maps that do this a lot).
Oh, god. That second E+ song would drive me up a wall. The constant walls flying in your face is just so.. ugh. Making you swing through walls, major pet peeve of mine.
Thank you for your reply, I can definitely see the criticism and it's on point. I am indeed right handed so my left hand is a little slower in terms of movement while my right hand is much more precise and faster. My main issue was like you said, the time to react on the blocks because of all E+ songs comes at that breakneck speed, I don't see how you are supposed to pass through it if that makes sense? Because if the blocks are so tightly squeezed together then you barely have time to see where you even need to hit it from.
And I definitely agree on Snapping (3rd song) , the walls are SUPER annoying.
Beat Saber is the same. Lesser difficulties gives you time to react to everything, but once you get into the deep end it is impossible to react. Not unlikely, hard, or challenging. It outright becomes impossible to beat Expert or E+ by reaction within human response times. Even when the songs are well made to have a proper flow to your movements there will be times you just wont see another block behind another. Or in some cases the map maker will simply toss in a curve ball intended to screw with you like mixing in off flow hits into chains, swapping colors around, or some other ♥♥♥♥ move.
The more you play a given map, the better you will become as you learn it.
As for building up your off hands accuracy or speed. Play one handed songs and change your main hand in the options as needed.
