If you like music there is infinite replay value due to custom songs (user-made content).
It's also a great workout, you're dead when you're done. It feels like playing DDR all over again, but with the arms instead, it's pretty awesome.
Seriously, try it. Like any game on Steam, you can refund if you played less than 2 hours so really you don't lose anything by trying it. This game is more satisfying than it looks.
its 2-4min songs, so if you buy it you can get a good idea of the game and still have the possibility of refunding it.
Beat saver is the thing you use to get custom/real songs
its not until you experience it that you get how good it is, it is ultimantely a simple game, but it is so satisfying and fun.
as you get better and better at the game you feel amazing.
and with the mods, and community made song maps, there is endless replayability and new songs coming every single day. at first you will be learning, and even "hard" songs will seem hard, but the way this game is, as you get better at it, you will be going faster and faster, and doing more and more intricate patterns barely having to think about it. so the game actually gets more fun as you get better.
you just have to try it, there is a lot to it that i could keep talking about, but you can experience it much faster by just playing it for yourself.
Im not even a rythm game guy whatsoever, im the opposite, im much more a military, simulation, FPS kind of gamer, rythm games are something ive mostly actively avoided, never touched any DDR, guitar hero, nothing.
even physically you wouldnt think id be into a game like this looking at me, im not one of those 120 pound kids with the chains on their pants that would play DDR in the mall, lol.
and yet I love beatsaber, it is my most played VR game by far, and while im not going to be tearing up the charts, im not half bad at it either.
I bought it.... I played it....It just is Hard to put it into words.
The entire family loves it. 60 year old man, 7 year old kid, 30 year old male and females. It's just awesome.
go to beatsaver.com
all you need to do is install the mod manager from the github page, then you select the mods you want in the manager and it installs everything for you.
then you can browse and install new songs from inside the game, everything gets integrated into the ingame menus, its so simple and convenient.
you cannot play your own music, you have to make a beatmap for each song manually.
i dunno what you mean by installing music from other mods, but again, every songs needs a custom made beatmap, there is a community made mapping program you can use, but you'll have to learn how to do that.

Also make sure to read #guide-and-faq if/when you join the discord. The links there have important info and you should read them, if you don't and ask for help people will be upset.
Maybe this is your cup of tea, maybe you prefer Romulan Ale.
Do keep in mind that the Youtube videos don't tell the whole story of the experience, although the mixed reality ones with people inside the VR world instead of just the headset view are closer. That's true for this game and most.
The in-VR experience is much more visceral.
Either way, if you are on the fence, you can give it a go and see if you like it. If you already feel you won't like it, don't bother . . . reasonable people won't feel bad if you aren't attracted to a game they like. This isn't a religion, it's a game. Play what catches your interest.
It can be a good solid workout (assuming you work up to Hard or Expert mode, Expert is where the real health benefits are).
Where you slice blocks...
With lightsabers.
Honestly, if you aren't excited as hell from that prospect alone, I don't know what else to say...
That's cool that you love it! It's a shame that watching VR in a video just doesn't do it justice.
If you get into global rankings on scoresaber, then it adds quite a bit of replay value trying to get better and better to see where you end up. Otherwise I just feel entertained chopping blocks to the rhythm of songs I like. Points also add up even if you do easier songs so you can do songs you like that aren't necessarily high point scores per song but will add up to contributing to your global rank.
