And even if you travelled to some alternate dimension where they did, there isn't a tracking solution for the VR mode. There's only some weird $50 Google Cardboard-like headset and the JoyCons which aren't adequate for this type of game (or any type of VR game that requires 6dof or motion controls, honestly).
this game cannot work on a monitor, even if the controllers were capable of the necessary precision, which they are not.
it would not be possible to play beat saber on a flat screen, you need the depth perception, and 6dof head movements.
it is coming to the PS4, so if you have a PS4 you should get a PSVR if you really want to play.
if you dont have a PS4, you should think about getting a cheap WMR set, you can find them under $200 in some cases. of course you also need a PC capable of playing, which isnt hard, beat saber can run very well on a 1050ti. it is not a very demanding game.
if none of the above is a possibility for you, then you're just gonna have to start saving your pennies and make it happen, or just settle for watching videos.
when i say depth perception, im not just talking about sterioscopic vision, which is what the effect you get with two angles of vision comes from. it also has to do with the movement of your POV in space.
despite having one working eye, you're still able to move your POV around inside the game with 6 DOF and therefore still have an awareness of depth and location within space that you cannot get on a flat screen.
They're planning something it most likely wont be vr tho
and the joy cons could do the motion tracking easily
as seen here: https://giant.gfycat.com/ImpressiveWetBluefish.webm
Notice at the end how even though he's moving the controllers side to side, the sabers on screen only rotate and do not change position.
Wouldn't it be possible to put on a custom strap on the joycons that can give them motion controlls and tracking? The straps should be able to send at least SOMETHING because the switch can charge them very easily.
Well there is this.
