VR-only. If you have a VR-capable PC then a WMR headset would be cheapest. It should work fine for Beat Saber but games that make you put your hands outside of the headset's cameras may not track the controllers perfectly. If you want perfect tracking, you have to spring for a Vive or Rift.

If you don't have a VR-capable PC and you have a PS4, there is a PSVR version in the works. I would not recommend a PSVR unless you absolutely do not have a VR-capable PC. The tracking is pretty poor in comparision.
Yes, check to make certain your computer is up to spec to run the sort of VR system you are looking at. Note, the raw specs for Windows Mixed Reality is much lower than Rift or Vive BUT that's typically for WIndows Store games. You will want to up the thing a bit to use Steam VR but still lower than Vive or Rift on average. Pricing for WMR is much lower than Rift or Vive (except for Samsung WMR which is an excellent premium piece of hardware). HP and Lenovo are often on sale.

Or you can just use a ruler and a mirror. Close one eye and put the 0 mark under the pupil then switch eyes and read what is under your other pupil.

Ye, I can confirm that wmr works well. I could run beat saber in vr on my gtx970(4gb) and 8gb ram

I use a lenovo WMR for beatsaber exper songs. It works great. A Good buy if you want vr on a budget.

Here is a small gallery you can see to compare the screen quality with the rift/vive, as well as a gif that shows it can track you hands behind you even without sensors there.

Holy crap, the screen door effect is bad on the occulus and vive compared to Windows mixed reality.
It's a 60% resolution increase, and the panels are rgb rather than pentile, so it is quite a bit clearer. But the lenses have a bit smaller sweet spot than the vive. Still less godrays than either vive or rift

while it is certainly worse on the old headsets, its not as bad as it looks in those pictures.

through the lens pictures and video can be good for comparison purposes, but they do not actually show you what your eyes will see, the lenses were designed for your eyes, which dont work the same as camera lenses.

SDE is probably the most overblown concern about VR, even in the vive and rift, you really dont notice it until you try to look for it, it's a non issue when you're playing, and those headsets are over 3 years old now, the latests sets have much better picture.

SDE is imo a completely solved issue at this point.

you notice issues like that more once you try a better headset, and then try an old one again.

im on the index now and everything is so amazingly clear, i find myself using the iron sights on my guns in shooters at much longer ranges, much more effectively now, it is awesome.
