Synth Riders I think "supports" custom songs. Beat Saber has custom songs but it's not supported by the devs (for obvious reasons) but they're not going anywhere, same with Audica.
Anyways, for all these games you need handcrafted maps to go with the songs, generated from audio would be an horrible experience.
I don't know about BoxVR but the map generation from Audioshield is very awkward.
BoxVR on Steam is on sale for $20 (from $30) and has mp3 song play built in.
It does a decent job of automatically making the beat maps to your songs. Not an awesome job, but good enough that your songs will be among the ones you come back to play. The first handful of songs you do will feel great! And all of them feel like they beat is timed perfectly.
Just adjust your foot placing forwards or backwards a bit if you feel like it's not registering your hits.
