Is this game worth $2?

I have got a 90% off coupon for Portal 2. Is this game worth that much of money?

Some details:

- I never played any Portal game before
- I don't mind puzzle games, but not if they're mind-bogglingly challenging!!
- My PC's GPU is a bit on the low end (decent enough to play modern platformers though)

-Very good characters
-Lots of great memes on teh webz
-Nice plot
-Great original idea made better by valve
Overall, this game should cost $100.
Side notes: Some of the voice lines are sarcasm and should not be taken seriously. Think outside of the box, and remember to listen to SOME of the dialogue to help you figure out the tests. There are some creepy Easter eggs, so if you don't like to be creeped out, don't look for Rattman dens. Spoiler: the cake is a lie (just a meme actually, not really a spoiler).

Are the puzzles impossible, most importantly? Is it OK for me to jump right in w/o playing Portal 1?

You may get stuck, but you'll figure it out. You don't need to actually play Portal 1, the most important parts of the story will be mentioned by the characters.

hi there. personal i'm into playing games like Resident Evil &c. i never played Portal 1 so far. i started out playing Portal 2 because i got the game for 2€ (by using a 90%-off-coupon). i never thought that a game like Portal could be that much exciting! Steam should get arrested for selling drugs..... this game is a drug and makes you addictid, it is so much fun playing this game! now (knowing Portal) i would even pay a €100 for it. great game!

For $2 that is an absolute steal. Cave Johnson couldn't have done better himself. It is not required to play the first one. The puzzles in the game are designed to make you think. They are not overly challenging but just require some out of the box (or testing chamber) thinking.

I bought the original Portal with the Orange Box and thought I got a great deal. Three episodes of Half-Life with it. I couldn't wait for Portal 2, and was happy to pay full price for it. (addicted)
You can also play Co-op cross-platform. One person on a PS-3, and another on PC.
