On my YT channel, I recorded 2 Saxton Hale Boss mode videos: one video showcasing Cave Johnson as a playable boss and another video showcasing Wheatley.
They both have Portal 2 music playing in the background.
Before this "Orchard" company placed the copyright claims on both the 2 videos, I was able to monetize both of these videos.
http://www.valvesoftware.com/videopolicy.html
"You are free to monetize your videos via the YouTube partner program and similar programs on other video sharing sites."
Valve is even GIVING US PERMISSION to monetize our videos and yet, I got copyright claims from the Orchard claiming that they "own" the Portal 2 music that was playing in the background of my two videos...
:l
The Orchard company is in no way related to Valve at ALL.
Portal 2 (people obviously know this but I'll mention it anyway) is a game OWNED and DEVELOPED by valve.
Search it up. Valve owns the music.
If you also search up "the orchard false claims", you can see that plenty of other people are having this problem as well.
I hope Valve will do something with that.
The reason why The Orchard was claiming it was because there was a Portal 2 soundtrack called "Songs to Test By".
The CD Version is handled by Ipecac Recordings, and that company has the Orchard handling the digital version.
I contacted Ipecac Recordings and they were able to contact the Orchard about this.
The claims should be lifted by now.
