Now the game won't even load.
Go on, expand on this so that we can tell you how much you are wrong ;)
Just look at the threads on the front page. People unable to launch the game, certain parts of the game bugged and unbeatable, etc. All issues that don't happen on any other iteration of Chrono trigger.
Sure as bugs they don't happen to everyone, but these literally happen to no one on any other version of this game. It's only the PC version that has all the bugs, launch problems etc.
If we're being completely fair, this isn't exactly a problem exclusive to this game.
Pick a game on the PC. Any game. I don't care how well it runs for X number of people, there will always be Y number of people that CAN'T run the game for whatever reason. It could be their own fault due to not meeting requirements, it could be an unexpected bug. Who knows.
Some of the games you can name will undoubtedly have a console version. By your logic, KotOR or Morrowind are better experienced on an Xbox, simply because there is someone out there that can't run it on a PC. By that same logic, does that mean those games barely work on any version of Windows?
Do you see how stupid a broad statement such as that actually is?
The PC version of morrowind doesn't keep coming out with new updates 20 years after its out creating more bugs that were never present in any version of the game. That's the difference.
Some of the new bugs, like music resetting after every battle is something that happens to everyone, because Square Enix sucks and messed up the game in other ways while simply updating for screen resolution.
