I got a 1070ti and have the same problem

I have the same problem and opened up a ticket with Bethesda, but they have not responded. I have done everything that supposedly clears this up and nothing has worked. I want my money back, the game is useless like this. We need a patch or something to fix this issue!

I am getting this with 970 drivers are up to date.

Updating drivers does nothing to resolve this, Bethesda refuses to answer any more of my emails, which is totally Bogus. I have done everything they say to do and nothing works! I know my way around computers and this is horrible of them to quit talking to us!

I'm on the same boat. Lastest drivers, GF Experience, no secondary/integrated video card... Suckitude.

have the same problem, tried everything that has been suggested among other threads, drivers up to date etc

Disable the steam overlay and async compute and it fixed the crashing dumps for me. The game hates the steam overlay.

Refund if you can. I bought the game on GMG way back at release for a “deal” on complete game with season pass for $60. What a waste. Still can’t play this game because could not write crash dump. Still not fixed and we are 4 months from this game being a year old. Ridiculous.

1050Ti here

Disable async compute and the gog overlay

I had to edit the local config file for the game and add the line:

r_enableAsyncCompute “0”

Also just got newest Nvidia drivers and disabled Steam overlay. About to test the game for the first time in months..maybe this year. Wish me luck.

**Update Edit**: played for 0.9 hours with no issues. I hope it continues to work.

I never experienced this when I played the main campaign last January. I was able to finish the game with no problem.

Now, I'm playing the DLC and this issue happened. I was able to finish Episode 0 with no problems, but Episode 1 started crashing with "could not write crash dump"

Steam overlay off, still the same.

Async off is not possible with me. I tried Async off in the advanced options then restarted the game, it got worse. Could not even get to main menu. Just blackscreen after the bethesda, machine games, and the other intro videos. So I deleted the .local file to reset the video options.

I edited the notepad with the fix above as suggested on the comment above, but still the same.

CPU: i7 7700
GPU: AMD R9 290 (18.7.1 driver)
RAM: 16 GB RAM
OS: Windows 10 64 bit

I still have had no issues with regular campaign since my above post. But I guess the DLC is a whole other issue...

I’ll get to that shortly and see if I have issues and respond back here.
