Also just got newest Nvidia drivers and disabled Steam overlay. About to test the game for the first time in months..maybe this year. Wish me luck.
**Update Edit**: played for 0.9 hours with no issues. I hope it continues to work.
Now, I'm playing the DLC and this issue happened. I was able to finish Episode 0 with no problems, but Episode 1 started crashing with "could not write crash dump"
Steam overlay off, still the same.
Async off is not possible with me. I tried Async off in the advanced options then restarted the game, it got worse. Could not even get to main menu. Just blackscreen after the bethesda, machine games, and the other intro videos. So I deleted the .local file to reset the video options.
I edited the notepad with the fix above as suggested on the comment above, but still the same.
CPU: i7 7700
GPU: AMD R9 290 (18.7.1 driver)
RAM: 16 GB RAM
OS: Windows 10 64 bit
I’ll get to that shortly and see if I have issues and respond back here.
