Same problem. But, I played QC yesterday. Today it's not work again. I sure that we should not wait for fix. It will no be. The problem not solved by the developers for more than a week, which means it is worthwile to require a free key from them to run the game via Bethesda Launcher. Maybe, it's will help.

Here are some possible solutions:

  • Verify game integrity: Right-click on Quake Champions in your Steam Game Library, click Properties. Under "Local Files," click "Verify Integrity of Game Files." After doing so, it's recommended your restart your PC and try launching the game again.
  • Install the latest Windows updates: Generally a good idea for overall PC performance and security, make sure you're running the latest Windows updates for your OS version. Windows 7 users in particular who were experiencing crashes resolved the issue by updating Windows.
  • Update your video card drivers: Updating to the latest video card drivers may resolve the issue for some users.
  • Turn off 3rd party recording/overlay programs: Some players have reported being able to launch after turning off programs like OBS, or Plays.tv. You might want to experiment with disabling these programs and seeing if Quake Champions runs.
  • Reset DNS settings: Open a command prompt and run the command ipconfig /flushdns. You may need to restart your PC afterwards.
  • Turn off Steam shader pre-caching option: Open Steam settings, click on "Shader Pre-Caching," and uncheck "Enable Shader Pre-Caching." Use Windows Explorer to navigate to your Steam > Steamapps > Shadercache folder, delete the folder "611500."
  • Turn off Steam overlay: Try turning off the Steam overlay and seeing if that resolves the issue.

None of this work op, don't even waste your time trying.

Only way you can play is via a vpn or get lucky with the beth launcher, sometimes the game works with this pile of ♥♥♥♥ client.

So they can tell him to try the useless same fixes you provided in this thread ?

They don't know how to fix this mess, it's been 10 days since the problem surfaced & to this date they have done nothing but post a sticky with users submitted suggestion.

Way to go beth/id/saber, good way to promote the game !

Don't get me wrong i love the game but it's just insane that such a huge company can't fix a problem like that in days.

Common 10 days already wat a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke.

you guys have this problem since 10 days, but for me, since the beta, same issue on both platforms, i hope they can fix it, because it sounds like a programming issue here, and not a client one

Dunno if it helps, but i couldn't start either and thought it was alot of hazzle above, didnt do any of it, i only verified my game files and that didnt work.

Then i turned off Steam Overlay and "Discord Overlay" and the game started with no issues.

I'm also having a problem with it not launching..
I open Quake, get the 'run as admin' popup, the blue loading icon appears next to my cursor but nothing at all happens after that. The process is running as I can find it in Task Manager but the window icon on the taskbar doesn't appear for Quake. At the time of writing this, I am apparently 'in-game' on Quake but trust me, I can't physically play.
I've verified the game files three times, always run as admin, all Windows and GPU drivers are installed and up to date, and I've tried disabling Steam pre-caching as well as the overlay but nothing works.

I got a free code emailed to me for the game so idk if that's of any help.

**Just uninstalled and re-installed Quake but it still doesn't launch**
