The game is not saving my progress, language, cfg, etc. I have not idea how to fix this. I used to play the game without problem but after a while the saving problems started. Please help me to fix this problem, I really want to complete the game.

Using linux, seems the xbox controller mappings are all off, the default scheme is most useable but has no character switch button. Also on level 1 the stone prompts show what looks like xml code instead of proper text. Anyone else seeing the same issues?...
