I understand your reasonable statement, but out of comfortable thought and ideal circumstance it would be super cool if we had a unique navigate to destination command to make captains dock with an outpost.
If you need a lot of "qol" features to make the game bearable for you after 1.3k hours of playtime, you're probably just bored of the game.
Being able to sit on the guns or do other things rather than spend most of the time at the helm would improve the game for solo and multiplayer I think, as not everyone enjoys being captain or helmsman.
Captain bot could make more call-outs in bot chat, with unobtrusive clickable order icons becoming visible when situations arise that would ordinarily require a decision.
There are good points against it like griefing as said, but I really do think it'd contribute to the beauty of the game and allowing the freedom of play amongst class and playstyle.
It is still beneficial for the player to take over because a real player can respond to unexpected issues, think outside the box, and master the job, but it would be insanely helpful if Captain bots could dock.
i barely use the autopilot, this autodock, ill never use it.
also "dock in a rush"?!!! like when you need to make poop? see yellow boi, just poop on the spot.
I've played captain enough to know it can be monotonous and I wouldn't mind a little automation. Not something to totally replace human skill, but an alternative in case you need it.
