Ability to use Bots in multiplayer similiar to single player, or crafting commands
So the issue lies with the disparity from Singleplayer to Multiplayer... i like multiplayer. but not with rando's, Usually with close friends... the issue we have is that we like to get a full crew. and with just 2 or 3 of us. its hard to make use of the extra positions being filled by AI.. such as an AI engineer with the higher quality items or specialty items from each class being locked away from us because of the inability. to use the AI...

I have used the cheat to take control of the AI before. but it seems that once you take control of the AI once, when the next round loads they completely disappear. like just deleted.

In multiplayer, when a bot has a Talent which unlocks a recipe it gets unlocked for the entire crew.

I think he means the "Craft X item at a higher quality" traits, and others like Gene Harvester being useless on a bot since they don't loot

This could be remedied if players (probably the host) could simply swap to a bot and pilot them around on the fly.

Could be a toggle option in the server setup.

The craft talent locked items already works as sokolov said.
The 8% bonus from masterwork as per my opinion is fine being locked behind your character choice. But there are ways around it. Such as middle path assistant. Who can boost all crafting quality by +1.

It should also have a toggle to where the server host can assign access privileges to take control of bots within the game to avoid griefing from players with poor impulse control. It would be similar to assigning a salary in campaign if so.

And, this feature would not be complete without extra toggles in the server host menu, for player created characters and bots to have respawn or permadeath privileges as well. Infact, hireable NPCs should have different code flags over player created characters.

I tried a multiplayer mod that had these concepts in mind but it's buggy af. Devs can make this happen with far less effort and without the use of clunky jury-rigged LUA system tied to chat.. (Sorry modders, I've had so much trouble with the available options..)

THIS FEATURE HAS BEEN REQUESTED FOR QUITE A LONG TIME.

Edit: I think I'll stick with the mod for now. After a while I managed to understand it better. Being able to reserve characters is actually a godsend. But also easy to ruin saves with..
