When you remove the wire from the component end it should turn into an item. You're saying the wire stays on the wall but with both ends disconnected? Do you have a screenshot?

After disconnecting the wire, we can see that it properly labels the other end as connected to the "Power In" node of the O2 generator.

Disconnecting the other end of the wire from the O2 Generator's "Power In" node. This should allow me to grab that wire out of the menu and turn it into an item.

It is still clearly disconnected from both ends of the wire. This should be all that is needed to turn it into an item and drop it out of the menu.

It cannot be pulled out of the box.

With the connection made to the junction box's "Load Value Out" node, we have now lost the other end of the wire that should be inside of the O2 generator's menu. Alas, it is not there. Forming a bugged wire. This is constant.

I tried to make this as detailed and as easily understood as possible.
No such bug exists in Barotrauma. This is only a design issue. Don't delete game files just because you boarded a botched submarine.
People who are new to Barotrauma click boxes in the editor that they don't understand, it causes things like this to happen.
Bring the copy to the sub editor. Which then you'll have to fix and add to your campaign as a new sub. Which you will then have to buy at an outpost.
Or use a third party save editor.
