any good tutorials on wiring junction boxes?
im doing a kinda big or just big sub with all the bells and whistles, iv just watched 3 tutorials and they all kinda sucked in terms of how good the wiring was one was for a much smaller sub the others just showed quick crude ways that worked but are going to have problems on top of seemingly still not enough for my big sub

I have 2 engines 3 ballast 2 deconstructers 1 fabricator 1 med fabricator 2 coil guns 1 rail 2 shock coils, the rest of the basics and maybe 25ish lights that need power plus i was planing on adding a bunch of spot lights so you dont have to turn to see things, i have 4 batterys , i might need to add like a couple extra small pumps

I dont want to cheese things so no setting things past vanilla unless i have to and i have 18 junction boxes i can work with, i can remove ones i dont need but i was planing on adding 4 super capacitors for the weapons and shock coil

any idea on what i should do?

imho just download a custome sub and learn how to make most of the stuff by looking how its all wired up

One of the sub im editing has a junction box using relay components with each 5 of the power output connected a relay power input in order to hook up 5x more lights on it, same for pumps

I recommend you take a look on the R-29 Hammerhead, its junction box are teaching a lot by just observing how its made

Like the User above me said, loading up other subs is a great way to learn.

Something to help you out though, try wiring like this example;
Reactor > Junction Box 1 > Junction Box 2 > Junction Box 3...

The Junction Boxex 1 and 2 will have used 2 power slots, leaving 3 power slots.
Junction Box 3 will have used 1 power slot, leaving 4 power slots.

Junction Box 2, outsource its last 3 power slots to relay components.
In these 3 relay components, lets wire in the constant power suckers, ballast pumps and super capacitors.

Junction Box 3, outsource 3 of its connections to relays. Leaving the 5th slot for expansion to another Junction Box.
On these 3 relays, lets attach all the electronics.

The way junction boxes function, you can install a large amount of them, but for big ships it can become rather maddening for the crew member with a screwdriver to keep up their maintenance.
But it will work.

Or

You can split out power usage from Junction Boxes using the relays, this allows a-lot more wiggle room.

Stay away from sending power through a relay > to another relay > to devices.
You will have a bad time.
