Otherwise, you can basically drug up heavily. Start with 2 tonic liquids and a hyperzine (or 2, for max effect despite the slight waste). Auto injector headset with deusizine loaded, or combat stimulant if you have access to it. Pressure stabilizer is also an overlooked option that lets you go out in body armor instead of a diving suit. Bring spares, and the best tier of meds you can.
In terms of actual clearing, use flares liberally. Advance a bit, throw a flare, see if it lures anything, repeat. Weapons depends on what you have unlocked, but a short and long range option is nice. You can bring a rifle purely for the grenade if you can get the jump. You want stopping power. If SMG, then will need the depleted rounds.
Strong weapons in general are needed. I suggest gene augmentation that favors combat traits with health regeneration and damage reduction. Avoid mud raptor nest clearing missions early on until you're packing some serious heat.
