What's your method for clearing nest missions?
I can't figure out a good tactic.

Depends on how far in you are. At "end game" levels you can just go in with exosuit + HMG and have a good time.

Otherwise, you can basically drug up heavily. Start with 2 tonic liquids and a hyperzine (or 2, for max effect despite the slight waste). Auto injector headset with deusizine loaded, or combat stimulant if you have access to it. Pressure stabilizer is also an overlooked option that lets you go out in body armor instead of a diving suit. Bring spares, and the best tier of meds you can.

In terms of actual clearing, use flares liberally. Advance a bit, throw a flare, see if it lures anything, repeat. Weapons depends on what you have unlocked, but a short and long range option is nice. You can bring a rifle purely for the grenade if you can get the jump. You want stopping power. If SMG, then will need the depleted rounds.

If you have leveled medic on board ask him to buff you with all guy below listed, will be less waste of medicine because of talents that increase applied buffs/heals, if medic very leveled

Strong weapons in general are needed. I suggest gene augmentation that favors combat traits with health regeneration and damage reduction. Avoid mud raptor nest clearing missions early on until you're packing some serious heat.

If you get security with a couple of talents, then you can probably send them out alone with a boarding axe and a couple of bandages. All you have to do is mention how the clown escaped the ballast and went into the cave.

The way my crew does it is more for Neurotrauma gameplay, however it is also good for Vanilla. Basically: everyone is equipped with at least one weapon and flashlight, security officers go in the front and do the heavy lifting, other roles stay in the middle, and the medic, or medics if you have multiple, stay in the rear and only engage in ranged combat. Medics act as sideline support to get the conflict over as soon as possible and after the conflict is over, medics heal any and all injuries. Then you just rinse and repeat, pushing deeper into the cave inch by inch.

in multiplayer, i force random people to go in with just a suit and diving knife, if they die. No harm.
if they win and come back, congrats you get medical, and higher rights

exo suit with two swords, so that the ragdoll doesnt screw you like with a gun, and early game I just skip

3k marks for a crawler nest. 4k-6k for other nests.

If you [Steam's lovely hearts] up badly you might spend more than that, but that should very much be the exception.

Bring proper guns
Bring meds
Use Combat Suits
Use buffs
Use Flares to bait out enemies ahead of you
Handheld sonar pings enemies. Scout ahead.

The less expensive way to do it is to lure them out and have your crew on the submarine's gun ready to fire. Of course this is risky for the person being used as bait, but it works, as long as they are not too deep inside a cave.
