How to enable mods on self hosted server?
Hi all, we're trying to host our own private server, can someone point me in the right direction on how to enable mods?
Everything seems to be out dated.
Thank you!

Well... You can just enable mods the mods you downloaded from the customize->mods in the main menu. You just drag them left in the load order(steam workshop pages generally say if something needs a specific order) then multiplayer (you probably need lua mod too) create a server with lua for barotrauma server executable (not sure if this is needed but do it) after you do this when you load the pre-game lobby you should see that the mods enabled icon that looks like puzzle piece with a plus. Some mods need client sided lua but they explain that in the description so you would now and its not hard to enable it is mentioned in the descripts. That should be it. I hope it helps

Hey, I'm the one hosting the private server for Soapwater.
So we don't have lua, we're trying to enable a non-lua mod on dedicatedServer.exe
So far we have tried:
-Pasting the mod directory in-between <regular packages /> and </contentpackages> in Config_Plater.xml
-Changing the file names to the c:/ destination url for each file
-loading the mods from the LocalMods folder
-changing the file names to the %appdata% destination url for each file
-We tried using Lua, but loading it causes major crashes to the server
When not using Lua, the server boots up with no errors and we are able to connect, but no mods are loading.

I may not be enough knowladgeable to help then. I only downloaded mods from steam workshop then did the things i did. Hosted server from ingame. I am not sure what you guys are attempting to do. Just to be sure, are you guys modding from steam workshop and not manually. Also hosting normally ingame.

not all mods are in LocalMods i have like 3 mod files i dont really know why. But again i cant help with manual stuff

edit 1: I just checked the internet for stuff about it to see what you guys saw. I saw the official wiki host thing and i did not do those when i was playing with friends + mods. you can just enable steam workshop mods from the ingame settings go to multiplayer press host open a server and there it is... mods.

edit 2: if you want i can still post step by step what i did guide
