I know. I play with my friend, and we need to make better fuel rods for reactor, but bot don't make new rods. Same with the tools and equipment.

Get a higher skill for +1
Get an assistant with your profession and the +1 crafting skill.
And... i have no clue where my last +1 comes from, but i am captain, and i can make +3 quality rods, which is maximum.

My character captain is too, I choose a talent for engineer for +1 crafting for rods, but I can't order engineer to craft better rods, should to write a developers about it? I mean If you play in coop with friend(s) and you not have enough friends to every profession on sub, Captain could order to craft needed gear\equipment\resource.

I play somewhere 150+ hours in game, after 1.0 release, sooo I not know what community wants, but hear a lot of about clowns and fuel rods in plasma cutter :D

Hey you can use console commands to become the bot character and craft using them. You can refer to the wiki for more info.

setclientcharacter [player name] [character name]

I wish they would allow the captain to take control of bots in multiplayer, just like in solo.
It's basically like giving orders, and would make the captain role much more interesting.

Yeah, I know about that, but it's not break talents?

Whatever recipes your crew unlocks, you can craft.
So if your Security unlocks SMG ammo, you the captain (or whatever class you are) can craft it.

However, talents that say "you can craft 1 higher quality" don't apply to you.
You can also use the setclientcharacter command (which is not considered a cheat) to take control of the bot you want to get that benefit.
