Beacon - fuel cell one time thing?

Do i need to keep returning to old beacons when the fuel cells run out?

Beacons (at least vanilla ones) do not consume fuel.

As mentioned by others, Once you activate a beacon, and complete the mission (dock at the next location) the beacon is on forever, even if you pass by it again, you can find the beacon station (if you're watching for it) and it'll still be operational, also a great place for a dive team to come across if the sub left or sank as they can use it to recup oxygen and/or wait it out if the sub can't find them and needs to rush the docking proceedure.

Unlike station points that don't have a oxygen gen in it's partial instance.
