Won't be Barotrauma though, methinks. Maybe Barotrauma 3D? Like when Duke Nukem 3D came along, we need sassy one-liners and aliens sitting on the toilet looking at posters of naughty ladies.
Even though I'd like to see something like Barotrauma in 3D, it would likely not be as advanced as the 2D version is. Like the Submarine Editor, Character Editor, modding capabilities..
Given the modern standards it would probably run on Urine Engine 4 and destroy performance, anyway.
My thinking is that, they've already got databases that they use for Barotrauma 2D. They don't have to reinvent the wheel. They've got a blueprint and they just need to try their hand at making an FPS/third person version. Would be epic.
Imagine working on a pump and you hear "Incoming!" and the hull a deck above you rupture and flood.
Imagine trying to fight several mudraptors that have invaded the boat while it's flooding and you don't have a diving suit on, and the brood mother is bashing the boat from the outside and spewing acid balls which disintegrate the hull even further and cause you to constantly loose your balance and aim, and get stunned by each jolt too, to top it all off the reactor just ran out of fuel. I wouldn't fancy anyone's chances.
