It definatly tought me that playing bold is so much more fun.

Even if not, I'm generally pushing towards later areas anyway.
No idea where they got the turn idea because Jovian Radiation progresses based on how much time you take in a mission. This also means you can't just explore a level and that you need to pay a lot of attention while organizing in an outpost since there's really no time to do in the mission.
With just 3-4 quick routes eastwards you usually have a lot of headroom ahead of the advancing radiation.
If it was turn based it wouldn't matter how long you floated about in a Linea.
Go on any route, wait 5 mins and check radiation progression.
Do it again with 10 or 15mins. Theres your proof. Its not that hard.
