Drain ballast tank and dealing with flora.

I keep seeing that we have to drain the tank but I don't know how to do that.

using a screwdriver on the pump, disconnect it from the navigation terminal so it can be used manually, interact with it normally and drain the room, then once again use the screwdriver, this time disconnect the power so that the ballast flora can't use it, deal with the ballast flora and then reconnect the wires.

I was thinking, besides two good nades killing it outright. landing the ship on the sea floor (try to be in a position where you are grounded , but can also swim outside below the ship.). Swim outside and use the plasma cutter to cut through the hull into the pump and keep cutting till the flora is dead. since your outside the ship and below it, your not in the gas cloud. And even if you are you can still swim away from the flora since your not stuck in the room.

If you have PUCS, it will essentially make you immune to the gas. make sure you have at least one diving suit, disconnect the automatic control with a screwdriver, set pump to drain out then power it off, blast it with welding or plasma (welding is better) for like 30 seconds, once its dead reconnect the wiring and you're good.

i recommend cutting the door down to the ballast so the flora can't lock you in and dutch oven you too
