Its especially helpful you need to buy time for either the doctor to arrive, if not dragging them back whilst unconscious to a location where you can get to the doctor midway. Depending on if the crew had to be part away team and other part still on the ship, you can have situations where the doc doesn't go out with the security team to handle caves or shipwrecks, doesn't happen always but sometimes it will.
All that medication does is make it, the person for one; become immune to pressure whilst its still in the system. And two; doesn't have to worry about not breathing so oxygen loss goes down, but the overall duration depends on their medical skills or if they used a tonic in advance to extend the duration.
Heck I've even told people, as the doctor to use it in emergency situations and not the auto injector, yet had several not listen. So I had to get creative with them in those cases later, or go over it again when that got their attention to listen. In situations on the ship, its to get to the suits. In combat situations if they're not dying of blood loss but got enough damage to not be breathing as their unconscious; it buys you time there to get them somewhere for treatment if unable on site. If you run out of oxygen for someone, you can technically use it to keep them conscious for a while to buy time once again till you can get them a spare tank of oxygen or back on the ship hopefully.
Basically, just think of it not as a medication, but a special compound/medical drug designed to provide some form of emergency support. If it were space station 13, it'll be like the one compound they use to keep someone in critical stable in a similar situation whilst working to save them.
I am talking about bots, not people, besides even If I switch to the bot suffering the high pressure I will still need to find the medication in their inventory and then inject it, all of that in less than 6-8 seconds before the bot dies.
Thanks that is a good idea, I tried but for the moment in the forum of the game (https://undertowgames.com/forum) I can't register, it just says something like 'Creating a new account is currently not possible.'
they still get stuck on ladders and in transit to some areas in vanilla subs for instance.
100% agreement AI needs more than just some attention.
