ballast floral and bots.
Trying to clear the flora while the bots try to run infront of me and burn themselves is the most irritating ♥♥♥♥ ever ♥♥♥♥ you

Yep bots are completely incapable of handling ballast flora.

The steamer is nice.

Can always toss some grenades down there and let the bots fix the hull.

Steamer is probably the way over plasma cutters since it won't nuke the hull and invite bots in. Ballasts are designated as no stay areas, generally bots shouldn't be wandering in it barring damage or some weird sub design.

I just got to biome two is a steamer already available by then? I figure i could just tell my bots to ♥♥♥♥ off or stay away from the area yet i don't know the command for that and im certain it was an escort mission so it might have been the civis onboard. its the first attack sub baruk or something so the ballasts are very close to maindeck

Hi there. A very effective tactic against ballast flora is incindium grenades and molotovs. If you throw an incindium grenade directly under the pump that is infected, it will destroy it in one pop without damaging the hulls. Even without blowing the ballast. If you have molotovs, gently navigate your ship to the top wall of the cavern and put your ship in an upward motion to clear the pumps. Next go to the infected pump, turn it off, then toss a molotov into the ballast and close the hatch. Molotovs, unlike incindium grenades, will burn the oxygen in the room. So make sure you keep the ballast closed until it's done burning. This should also kill the flora in one go. I always keep around 8 to 10 incindium grenades on my ship for this very reason.

Awesome, cheers. I did manage to get the prototype steam gun so that works for now.

With an incendium tank it is my favorite weapon. By far

You can tell the bots to ignore the doors of the room you are in to keep them out or the hatch to the ballast if you're getting in close with the flora.

yeah bots are pretty basic. i just burn trough them they get enough and leave :D
last run i had a very grown bf, i had to drain the water to kill it. im just using welders and cutters so far. welder works too, no need to invite bots. i have not tried other methods.
i was parked at an infected patch of water, so it got messy. watch where you park.

reding the wiki, seems like some more common stuff like K, Li, Na, flash powder can be effective.

The steam flamer works good but burns through welding tanks way to fast to be very effective at killing bflora. Im thinking i should use some type of explosive compound does c4 or the other explosives blow up without being put into a payload? Ive never used them so i have no idea

im not into explosives either, but it can be triggered with a detonator.
im going to try what i listed at the end, next time i get this.
this has almost all the answers you might have: link[barotraumagame.com]
