A minor update for performance should be done within the next few days or a week. Do it separately from the rest of the update. Content and performance are two different kinds of updates. Don't bundle them together or you'll end up with a HD2 catastrophie.

Always good to get an official word on such things from a developer. I don't have performance problems myself right now but it'll be most welcome news for those who do.
