How to overvolt the engine without overvolting the grid?
I'd like to know if it's possible to overvolt just the engine and nothing else.
And also, what is the maximum overvoltage for engine?

This way you can peg the reactor turbine to 100 and the sub will go zoom zoom.

You'd probably need an exclusive connection between the engine and a power source (e.g. a reactor and / or batteries, though I'm not sure if batteries can be used for overvolting). Perhaps run everything else in the sub through a relay with a limiter on it (typically I think it is set at 1000, but you'll probably want more power than that in total even with the engine excluded). Bit of a fudge but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. You could possibly have other relays limiting power to other circuits, e.g. lights. Just don't chain relays to relays for power, that gave weird results in the past.

I suppose if you ran everything other than the engine on a relay with a max power output. Say the relay can handle 4k power. Everything above 4k power would have to go to the engine. You could also bypass the relay with say a backup battery system if need be.

For example, Reactor > junction > relay (with everything not the engine) /engine/ optional backup batteries. In this example you have 1 main junction box before you divert everything. And after the relay you can go back to using junction boxes. You could also play with it a bit and have say 2 relays. Maybe one with 3k power and one with 1k power. That way you can change how much power is needed to over volt.

I had to play with it a bit to make that work.
Reactor > engine
engine > Relay out
Relay out > battery in
battery out > junction box.
If you use the relay in this does not work.

Something that could be a bug. But I don't feel like the devs need to fix it as of now.

Not a bug, this is canon.

Thanks, edited my comment to fix the mistake!
