Are regular depth charges worth it ?
I dont have nuclear option talent unlocked and im tasked with destroying a sepratist sub, I dont have railguns also and coilguns would tear me up if i landed on top, just dropping regular depth charges on them kill or weaken most of their systems to board ?

If you manage to hit it'll do a good bunch of damage... but really, you want to just sink the enemy sub first at least. Much more reliable, especially as it's not a given they'll end up beneath you otherwise.
I haven't used depth charges much since they were changed, but I believe standard charges now have some explosive component even without a loaded item.

Killing another submarine is another matter. You can put holes in another sub, but if the crew is still alive and able they may be able to repair it and recover without much issue. The surest way to kill a submarine without having to board is to detonate an explosion near the targets reactor, causing the reactor itself to overload and explode. If you can do this over the abyss then it's pretty much a sure thing that the crew will perish (eventually).

If you have explosive coilgun ammunition at your disposal then that'll probably do the trick too. You'll want to target the opposing sub's gunnery deck because their guns aren't going to do them any good without someone alive at the station to operate them.

If you can lure monsters to the enemy sub, that might also do it, or if you just wait the enemy sub may attract monsters. Fending off monster attacks is pretty difficult for the AI so you may just be able to wait them out if you really need to.

Standard depth charges might do it but because of how diligent bot crews are about repairs I expect you'd have to drop a good number of charges on the target and hope that you took out the repair crew with the charges following the initial strike that damages the target and causes bots to move to the damaged section for repair work.

Should normally be fairly easy to position yourself above the enemy for a depth charge attack, have a bot (or human) on reload duty so that you can fire off a few before investigating their fate, once they start flooding (probably on the first hit) they'll likely just sink straight down.

If you're able to load the depth charges with IC-4 then that should do a good amount of damage.

Those got heavily nerfed. Unsure if they're still "worth it" vs subs, but they're definitely no longer capable of taking out an entire submarine's walls in one box.

You'd likely be better off with piercing ammo now.

Right, then I'd just say power down and wait for mudraptors to circle of life the other boat.
