It should still be possible to play multiplayer on those versions I think, so it's always possible to go back to a version you liked the most with some of your friends.
I regret not having finished the campaign before the addition of this cr@p because now it seems impossible to get the achievement.
I miss old characters. Above all, old sprites, i still think that new ones were downgrade.
Mudraptors design seems slightly more generic, than previous one, which had more personality, i would say + some other creatures could probably use little more imagination. Exception being fractual guardians, that change was definitely for better.
Performance got definitely worse with certain updates, the more severe problems had been fixed, though some are stlll holding on.
AI is grey area, bots were/are better in older version in some aspects and worse in others, and that can change with every update.
Im also not sure about post 1.0 ending yet, im not there yet.
I like new mission types, bigger outposts, more interactable story elements/events + faction overhaul. And unlike characters, i actually like new sprites for submarine/outposts etc. Rework of alien ruins is also good.
After finishing campaign few times already (pre-1.0 versions), our crew started using mods and game got even better. So also thank god for workshop and modders.
Overall. Yes, there are thigns i dont like, but i still love the game and im having huge hope for its future.
Other than that, I'm mostly satisfied with how the game is currently.
That and after getting a pre-1.0 coop campaign done and a normal 1.0 coop session taking longer than expected, mods (personally ones that feel vanilla plus/vanilla expanding) make the game feel much more rounded out than the 1.0 game update did imo.
Maybe one day we will get skill tree rebalance mods to denerf/buff the current skills available to former build's strength.
Which version would that be then? Many of us who played during Early Access came in at different stages of development so will have our own favourite version (probably 0.48 for me). As far as the 1.0+ version goes, it seems pretty decent for me so far in solo mode, although bots seem to have lost a bit of common sense since a few versions before release.
