Then you can reconnect it to whatever you want to.
Don't doubleclick on the dangly wire bit, but the node that it is dangling from.
Didn't ever manage to get it to work though.
It's pretty stupid the devs made a function, that locks a wire to a certain box, instead of SIMPLY NOT DOING THAT! Why doesn't your cable ALWAYS follow you, like when you attach it for the first time???
In some standard subs you don't even have the possibility to remove the other end, because the genius devs put the circuits INTO THE WALL, so you can't access them... Which is another WHY??? WHY can't i click on circuits that are inside walls???
The other end is loose, but I can't connect it anywhere. You just can't take it.
It would be logical to add the ability to grab a hanging wire and continue to lay the wiring.

Can't do that to "decorative" panels though.
Anyway, simply picking up an item that is behind another interactable item is a serious problem already. IMO this is a more pressing issue than implementing more sensible wiring. Then 8px grid instead of 16px grid.
