Can I discard or use almost-empty ammo boxes?

Hi everyone! I'm really liking the game, but I have a question about ammo boxes that are almost empty.

In between battles of my submarine, I like to swap out ammo boxes that are almost empty from my coilgun loader, and replace them with full ammo boxes to prepare for the next battle.

As a result, I have a few almost-empty ammo boxes laying around on deck. I tried right-clicking them, but the menu never has an option to discard them.

Is there a way to discard almost-empty ammo boxes, or is there a way to use them? I tried looking through the wiki, but I'm unable to find anything relevant.

You can either disassemble them in the fabricator or recycle them into full with the relevant metals.
