How to delete empty crates?

After buying items you get those empty crates once you put the items away, how do you delete them?

Disassembler/flush out through your airlock.

You can also leave crates on stations, if they're still on the sub the next time you dock. Anything left on a station is deleted on map change just as if it'd been dumped in open waters.

Of course - disassemble. These crates are a regular source of steel ingots.

This was changed some time ago, and crates no longer deconstruct into steel bars. Deconstructing them just deletes them now.

Strange, just dismantled some crates, got steel bars. But maybe some mods just haven't been updated yet (like Backpacks).

noticed same issue. empty crate build up. i put them in the deconstructor. seems to address the issue from a tidiness perspective.
