Weird motion detector issue
So I tried transferring the Dugong's automatic closing mechanism on hatches and doors when they are open and no one is nearby to get whacked, onto the Humpback. I have 5 locations where I want this to happen: the ballast hatches, top area hatch, battery array door, and airlock. After looking at the Dugong wiring and creating the same components, I was able to do it perfectly to the airlock.

However, all other 4 locations had an issue with the motion detector causing the door/hatch to flicker and sometimes not be able to open them. At first I thought it was a wiring issue, so I just set up the motion detector and door the same way as those on the others doors and the problem still occurred. All the motion detector numbers are the same as the ones already on the Humpback so I am just confused.

Check item assemblies tab, it has automatic doors and hatches already wired up, just waiting to be dragged and dropped in. If you're talking about wiring up things during play, you should still open up the sub editor and check those out to see exactly what their settings are, and how they are wired up.

Yea I was doing it in play, I'll take a look at the settings and see if they are any different. On a side note, it seems that the doors/hatches don't flicker while I'm wiring so im even more confused.

I transferred the system from the dugong and from the item assembly and they seem to work without an issue, the one I tried to modify in game still has the problem which I don't know why.

The motion detector is just freaking out and making the door and hatch close and open, close, or just not want to open. Is it just me or are others also not able to modify those spots to be like the auto door/hatch?

I seem to have found a work around as they function fine if you are currently wiring them or if you are constantly moving which makes it tolerable. Standing still will get you slammed unlike the item assembly version. I am sad that I can't find out what to do to fix them mid play, so I will just chalk it up to a bug and leave it be to modify in a new campaign.

You can set the minimum movement requirement, set it to 0 and it should never trip while you are standing in range.

Should be noted that most doors (but not hatches) in the Humpback already have motion detectors and self-closing mechanisms, be sure you're looking at the correct ones (they'll be embedded in the ceilings so might be awkward to get to in-game).

Either wrong values or you wired something wrong
I suggest you go into the submarine editor and see again how its made then rebuild it on one of the broken doors
If i recall correctly the system uses and component connected to door state and not component that goes to motion sensor and then and goes to delay so it stays open for a bit
I might be wrong
Make sure all the components are there and that everything is right
