IIRC you simply draw two hulls, and don't place the usual gap between them. That will prevent water from rising upward from the wet hull, but shouldn't prevent anyone from going down... It's kind of silly IMO.

It will probably get changed in a future update so that the existing method no longer works. I can't think of any real nuclear submarine that has a moonpool anyway, seems like a bad idea in an unknown hostile environment, give me an actual airlock any day.

To do it properly there should be an actual pressure system in the game, not just 'water outside sub hulls = high pressure'.

That would be awesome.

i think they should keep it tho, there are things like mobile stations that do very well with a moonpool

Absolutely makes sense for a station, provided there's something like blast doors or internal security to deal with invaders. Imagine instead of docking you just bring the sub up into a big moonpool at the city stations, or a diver could enter or leave the station this way as part of a local mission or just to explore the locale. I think the devs should make it a vanilla thing instead of people having to use exploits which might get removed by an update, one or the other.

yeah, they could make a moonpool component

Meh, I'd prefer to just be given the tools / standard components / equipment to make one using my own noggin. I think the main requirements would be more realistic pressure simulation and some equipment / hardware (including pressure doors) to manage that pressure, after that just leave it up to the player.

Don't quote me on this but I do remember something being mentioned in the discord that it won't be removed but the method of implementation would be changed. Since double hulls can cause other bugs
