In The great Sea...
In The great Sea things start to get ridiculous. You feel a little lag and then you know that a swarm of enemys just spawn in front of you. This is the same in all biomes but like i said in the great sea those enemys may be 3 Molocs, a dozen crawlers with a couple of bone threshers or maybe 4 hammerheads.

Of course they shink the sub and then you feel another little lag and you know that an abyssal creature just spawn near you, leading you into a 15-20 min fight.

the first one it's fun but when it happens on every single trip it becomes tedious.

I find it faster and easier than the aphotic plateau because of less ballast flora.

The performance issue is being investigated and worked on as we speak. Regalis posted a lengthy message about this here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/602960/discussions/1/3274689919151838410/?ctp=4

I understand some of you are having performance issues, but complaining about it here will not help as this is more of a "Help & Technical Support" topic. Developers won't read/reply to many messages in "General Discussions" as it would be too time consuming. They have to work on the actual game, after all. But they do reply to forum users when it's important, just like I previously mentioned.

The devs are quite active in other places. The official Discord channel is the #1 place to go for interactions with developers. Then there is the GitHub page if you encounter issues and want to add some of your observations to the team. You can keep track of the game's progress on the trello.

Dynamoon ( who is community manager for Barotrauma ) is on a short break after working around the clock for a long time for this game and will return shortly.
