how do you open toxin cabinets without a captain or medic?
my friend and i are playing 2 player and we dont have a captain or medic. how do we access the toxin cabinet?

Hire a Captain or a Medic at an Outpost, and then disable them and take their ID card, I guess. There's currently no ways to pry or blow open locked containers, at least that I know of anyway.

Do as Greb wrote. Better: when you know you going to play without X, and you are going for a custom ship, then modify the cabinet that both of you can open it with ease.

Ive actually been wondering this when it comes to wrecks and abandon outposts. I always feel like Im missing out on a masterwork revolver or something awesome by not being able to open them.

It seems that you can access stuff with random ids. Like: if you find a security ID in a wreckage, you can access your ships armoury if you lost your own ID. At least that is what I read in another thread.

Maybe the toxin cabinet works with a wreckage ID if it has the same id_medic tag?

Yeah wrecked sub IDs generally give me access to containers, and sometimes even doors that are still powered.

I have the mod on to add more shipwreck variety, but I think this also works in vanilla wrecks. Just look for dead crew around.

Sometimes I've found ID cards on husks also.

Possibly ID cards seem to be hit or miss on if they do anything at all in my game.
