PUCS will usually win. Slightly higher slowdown (10% vs 5%), no bonus to scooter thrust, but same protection for most things, and much better protection vs husks, burns, and radiation.

Combat suit ironically isn't that good for combat; It should be named "Agility suit" or something. It has less protection than the normal diving suit.

PUCS at least has real defense with its Husk infection shield which can be handy if a husk crawler suddenly sprouts in your face.

For overall chonkyness, refer to the Abyss diving suit with almost 45% reduction to pretty much anything that isn't fire or radiation.

I prefer the Combat Suit. The lack of beeping from the PUCS annoys me so I almost never use it. Its ability to draw oxygen from the sub is useful but standing around in a diving suit constantly also annoys me so the only times I really throw the PUCS on is when there's some upcoming trouble I.E pirate vessel or something of that sort and I'm not planning on leaving the sub otherwise.

It's also kinda ugly.

Auto med ability might be interesting combined with the automed headset or whatever, maybe you could combine Tonic Water with Steroids or something. I've never encountered any combat situation in this game where using buff items has actually been needed though, but maybe in the future when things get balanced and hopefully greater threats get added it'd be a lot more appealing.

Generally consider the Abyssal suit to be useless and the basic Diving suit nothing more than crafting material.

Haven't tried the Slipsuit yet, not even seen it actually.

I forget what it's called but it's just an upgrade to the basic headset that can also have medical items put inside it, which are automatically applied when a certain threshold is met, probably health below 50% or something.

I guess it means when the situation goes South you can get dosed up on Steroids and Meth at the same time, or maybe if Tonic Water is applied first it'd increase the duration of your Steroids, or something.

That's assuming it even works with Tonic Water, it might only work with stuff that can be injected or loaded into the Syringe Gun etc.

PUCS also seem like the should be pretty good counters to ballast flora. I have heard they have crap visual range though I cant confirm this as I have never used one.

I pretty much just keep my PUCS on all the time now. High burn resist, free always-on flashlight, no need for oxygen mask/diving suit, just pop a tank in when you're submerged. But yeah it won't beep when oxygen low so you need to pay attention.

imo pucs is the best suit

PUCS is the goto for jovian radiation runs.

This makes sense to me. Should be a suggestion for the developers mayhaps?
