Similarly, I'm split 50/50 on the charybdis redesign. I think the newer one looks way cooler, but it's also too worm-like, which means the two largest creatures are both big worms. The old eyeless tentacle-shark is just terrifying, and I think it's a better size as well.
The old-old charybdis design was okay, but it looked too much like a whale.
The wiki says there's a rare variant of the Endworm called the Doomworm, which is just a bigger Endworm with more health and damage. Maybe they could replace the new Doomworm with the classic Endworm and just call it Dooomworm?
Speaking of sounds, Brigadier and Revolver, since you both mentioned it.
(note that what I describe below is client-sided only, but anyone can use it)
However, if you would love the sounds to be changed, you can actually do this yourself.
Just download the legacy .ogg sound file for the endworm, rename it to the current sound file, and toss it into the according game local files folder. If I'm not mistaken, the endworm sounds are at Contents/Characters/Endworm folder, there you should see the idle/loop/attack sound files, just rename the downloaded to the ones you want to change, and replace these.
Of course you can go with a more complex route with editing .xml files, but that would probably consider the game to be "modded", and you won't be able to join in the public vanilla lobbies.
Yet if you exchange just the sound files with their original names, that should do the trick just fine for any game, or if you are a solo player, that would work as well. By doing this you can replace any sound file, for Charybdis as well, even music, such as main menu, or whichever you prefer. I wrote quite an extensive guide on this, but it is in russian I am afraid, but well if you will not be bothered by translating stuff, you are more than welcome to check it out for more details, but in a nutshell, that's how you can do it.
Again, this is client-sided only, but if you only care for the sound to change your own gaming experience for personal enjoyment, that works just fine
