What are these "fleshy wall plants" and how do you deal with them?
I keep encountering them and doing everything in my power to stop them but i just dont know how to handle them. Only thing thats had an actual effect is a nuclear meltdown... But i simply assumed thats not how they are meant to be handled. Not knowing what they are called is making it impossible to even search up what they are and how to deal with them. So now i am asking here as a last resort. (Hope this is the right place to ask this-)

Ballast flora? How to fight:
1) Find the infected ballast
2) Pump out all the water from the ballast
3) Disconnect the power wires from the pump
4) Put on your best burn protection and get your morphine/medic ready
5) Take a welder or a cutter and cut the base of this muck
6) After a while, the flora will burst and all rot will disappear instantly
7) All other crew members must stay away from any part of the flora that has grown on the ship - they will constantly burn everyone with acid if they take damage.

What you were advised above isn’t a very effective way — it is long. You can use grenades (one explosion destroys most of the health if I remember correctly) or a flamethrower. It is necessary to burn it in ballast. Personally, I burned the disconnected pump and set a mini-fire, which either guaranteed to destroy the ballast flora, or almost killed it.
A good, if not the best protection against burns (90%) is done by a mechanic if the recipe is open (it is in the perks). For the early stages of the game, it's good until you get a better alternative in the form of diving suits (either an abyss suit, or a universal protective suit, I don't remember which one).

How can i tell what the base of them are?

Oh, I forgot to say. The ballast flora in the water is green spores, it is also visible on sonar in the form of blue crosses.

I didn't understand your question. How to find the "base of the ballast flora"? Go along the ballast flora and find the ballast captured by it. The ballast flora doesn’t damage unless you attack it.

Mk i will try these undesirable methods and i will tell you if it works out or not.

My method is the simplest, does not require the presence of grenades or a flamethrower, dangerous explosions or fire.
Electrician clothing provides protection from burns, plus wear a wetsuit. The best suit is given not by a mechanic, but by an engineer, and this is https://barotraumagame.com/wiki/PUCS
As the damage take morphine and the matter is over.
Simple and reliable.

I was talking about this suit. The engineer will make it only at the 4th level of a Physicist and the mechanic make protection from burns at the 1st level of a Technician.

Oh yes, you are right. I completely forgot about this https://barotraumagame.com/wiki/Safety_Harness

it's one of your ballast pumps. the one the stuff is growing out of. if it's a bad infection, it might have infected more than one pump, in which case burning it off of the pumps that later got infected will not kill the whole mess, you have to kill the original infestation.

If you have a handy thermal artifact laying around and you have a closed ballast room. What I like to do is pump out all the water and un-wire the pump. Take the thermal artifact and lay it on the infected pump. Get out of the ballast, close the room and wait for the fire to start. The fire should kill the flora if the infestation isn't out of control. Wait for the oxygen in the ballast room to run out which will stop the fire. As long as you stay out of the infestation's way, you take no damage and a reusable method that doesn't consume resources. Fire method won't work with open ballast designs though. Also, be sure you don't have a bot's job set to fight fires... or else they will try to get in there to put it out.

Dont they fight fires even without the command?

You can tell them all to "stay" in a room that isn't near the ballast flora. Since no matter which way you deal with it, it tends to make the flora spew out acid. This should also stop them from trying to put out the fire or get near the dangerous flora.
