Did you try giving an order to the bot? If it isn't idle it might not "fight intruders" automatically.
I guess Brigs will now be standard issue on custom submarines lol, assuming the spawn point for prisoner type NPCs works. Whereas it was a bit of a luxury room for RP / essential griefer hangout / waste of performance depending on who you ask, now having a cubbyhole to stash those bastards is pretty important.
I tried ignoring them because they were just turning back and forth in an access hatch but the minute I looked away they all found Syringe Guns and just terrorised the crew somehow, and got executed for their trouble.
It lead me to the discovery that harpoon guns have rope attached to them now. It seems really random when the tether activates though, what's up with that? Does the harpoon gun tether not work under water or something?
Damn, I know there's a talent to drag people at normal speed, but I really wish you could grab cuffed characters and move them around, because prisoners just completely resist any form of grabbing otherwise.
Early access growing pains, I know, but still. If we're being paid to escort prisoners now, we definitely need some better management for cuffed NPCs. I want to be able to cuff them into chairs or even lockers like SS13, lol. Lockers which you then weld closed and drop out of the airlock accidentally on purpose.
At least let me force them into an Abyssal Diving Suit and then toss them into the ballast, lol.
Yeah tried that too but you can't actually order them to follow you. I guess they're literally classed as an enemy unit that starts the round cuffed or something, lol. No orders for you! They only recognise pain.
Once you've done that, the key to getting prisoners down ladders easily is to grab a stun baton (or even just a wrench), drag them near the ladder, step onto the ladder, then boop them and quickly press Grab before they recover.
I don't know any way to get people up ladders easily without tranquilizing or paralyzing them, though...
Another option you could do is lock them inside a room and weld the door shut so they can't get out. Issue is just making sure no-one needs to access the room that trip or it gets a breach somehow. Mostly play SP so haven't really tried this tactic much.
EDIT: Seems like stun guns trigger your own security guards too now. Can still use them and just ragdoll before your security attacks you when they get close so all they will do is just cuff you then walk away. Takes a bit longer since you need to uncuff whoever shoots the stun gun constantly, but it is a method that can work in SP or MP.
1. First, u should understand how the prisoner take off their handcuff: if there is no crew member stay in the same room as they, they will automatically got escaped in several minutes. However, if there is any crew member stays in the same room( In sub editor this called 'hull'), the prisoners will never try to make an escape. Remember, ‘never’.
2. U should know where is ur prisoners spwanpoint and rush there at the very beginning of the round.
3. Order one of ur crew to 'follow' u and lead that AI into the same room of those prisoners without letting any prisoners get out of the room.
4. Change the AI command to 'stay still' and leave the room, using ur welding tool to seal the door of that 'prisoner room'. This can prevent the other AI open the door and let the prisoner get out and somehow get loose because of no crew watching.
5. Back to ur navigator and check whether the oxygen supply is enough for that 'prisoner room'. If not, using cutting tool to open that door and split ur prisoners into 2 groups in 2 adjacent room, and order another AI to do the same job as the first one in this second room. After that, seal the door.
6. Hang out anywhere u want with this fresh meat cargo now.
If bots are able to do Houdini Squirm from handcuffs - so should be players.
Also, why no corellation between submarine size and prisoners' batch?
This mission is the cause of my considerations for making a set of pillories for submarine building usage. Like, for dedicated prisoner/pirates/whatever hauling room. Herding civilians there might come handy too.
