New update turned my plants into grenades

100% vanilla, no mods, server with friends.
continued from a save from before update.
never had a problem before but now, pomegrenades full down and burst into flames, and raptor bane plants are invisble and i had a fruit full down, pop on me and take me down to %25 health via burn and blunt force trauma.

pomegrenades falling down and bursting into flames means they're mutated. That's actually why pomegrenades are called such. I guess raptor bane plants can mutate similarly? Anywho, not a bug.

is there a way to stop them from mutating or exploding when they hit the floor?

Nope. They've always had a chance to drop a mutant version of the fruit, which burst into flames. My advise is to find an isolated room where you can grow them safely.

2 ways, rig pumps in the room so that the floor is covered with a small amount of water OR put the pomgrenades in a locked room with a sky artifact.
