Best way to deal with Mudraptors?
I've mostly been playing SP and these little guys are giving me constant trouble. It's one thing when I'm in the ship and can have my boys shred them with coilguns, but whenever I'm out alone exploring caves even just one of them can be absolutely lethal.

They dart out of the darkness so fast that I don't think even Spiderman could put away his scooter and pull out his shotgun before they were on top of him. Then they tend to bite and hang on while thrashing you apart, like an alligator rolling to tear up its prey. The problem is, all this thrashing makes it very hard to hit them because even if my aim is spot on, often times my gun is at a bad angle or clips through their body so the shot misses despite my crosshair being right on them.

So what's the best way to deal with them? Also, since it's probably just me overlooking something obvious and not worth its own topic, how do I cancel an order once it's given to a crewmember? If I click next to their name on the order I can get an X to appear on it, but I can't actually remove the order. Thanks!

The only way I've found to avoid stunlocks is to play the game like it's left 4 dead and always have a teammate to shoot things off of you. This is not exactly always doable in singleplayer.

When there's an "X" over a crew order it has been canceled, it just sits there as a recent order so you can easily click it again if you need them to go back to that activity. If you really want the order icon to vanish I think you need to give them three orders to push the oldest order off the list.

Aahhh... The dreaded mudraptor. A fine adversary indeed. In a 1 on 1 situation, personally I use a stun baton and two diving knives. Stun the beast, quickly equip your knives on both hands, grab the Raptor and hack away. Make some slices, then re-stun to make sure it won't wake up while you're dissecting it. The knives can be replaced with guns of course, but where's the fun in that? :captainsinful:

In a desperate situation inside a ship, a grenade can also do the job. Open door, throw grenade, wait for the detonation, open the door and the room decoration is done. Last time I tried, a single grenade can kill a 100% healthy mudraptor.

If you encounter a mudraptor nest... Shotgun seems to work relatively well even underwater. But it's a risky thing to do when you're alone.

I did recently notice that the glowsticks seem to attract the attention of the threshers. I threw one in a cave the other day and three of them swam right to it, almost ignoring me until I began shooting at them with a harpoon gun. I would assume the same can be done with mudraptors, but I haven't tried yet.

I double-zap them with a stun gun and then get to knifing. But, that's supposing you have the time to line up those taser shots.

If there's more than one? Use explosives and hope for the best, I guess.

Not really sure about current version, but in the versions, a few months ago, double revolvers was by far the most potent ranged weapons, one could yield.

Next were the harpoon gun with physicorium harpoons, then harpoon gun with regular harpoons.

After that, there was only the very, very pitiful rest of the weaponry, which are so stupid inefficient that I never again used them, once I found out how much they underperformed..

PS: Don't believe me. Try it out yourself, start a random game and try to kill a random bot with each weapon and you'll see yourself...

Raptorbane works great! Hard to farm but if you inject a Mudraptor with raptorbane extract it will die VERY quickly!

Isn't it 12s, during which the mudraptor is still at full combat capacity?

I watched my friend use a syringe gun to shoot one into a mudraptor, it's health bar dropped from 100% to 0% in about 3-4 seconds? I don't know if the effects have been changed since then but I don't remember seeing any changes to it in patch notes.

Well, pretty sure the effects of several doses stack. You sure he hit the thing with one?

Yep, part of why I can remember it so well was how impressed I was that he managed to hit the raptor with the only dose we had. Have you seen one dose take longer to kill one?

It's rare enough I see a mudraptor in another situation than as a blip on the sonar or through a periscope. Rarer still I actually have some raptorbane on me.

I do, however, remember it taking longer. But I'm not going to bet any money on that.

Shoot them in the Belly, It's Soft. Do Not use SMG. Only Revolver(pierces armor) or Shottie(point blank boops).

Stun and Knife works good for 1v1

run and decoy strategy, man some bot to turrets, drive scooter and lure them to your turrets range, easy kill. Also, taking some medical, use when you going too low on hp. if you saw some eating your ship on turrets blind spot, ram that part of your ship to rocks as its so satisfying when you see the raptors split into parts.

When you run you dont have to be faster than the raptor.. just faster than your buddies.... ;)
