I can't respond for the roleplay and serious since I don't play MP, but I believe roleplay means you play as if you were in the sub, and serious is prob more similar to trying to try-harding the game. In a fun way of course
Those are simply to designate the playstyle of the person or group hosting the game. It doesn't effect the game itself, just helps like minded people find each other. The actual server description should have more details as well but depends on the host.
RolePlay: for people interested in acting out their actual role, using the literal military terms and refering to rank.
Serious: Basically, do your actual best to succeed. Messing around or doing something that hindered the mission's completion is discouraged.
Casual: You're probably trying to win but it's more relaxed. You're just having a good time and if you lost, at least you had a blast.
3 games in and the starting zone would be like 50%. Tiger sharks would spawn on the first mission.
