If your goal is to make it so that the door opening causes the detonator to trigger, you will need to set up: Door's State_Out > Signal Check > Signal_In > Signal_Out > Detonator Activate.
The Signal Check will need to have it's values set as follows:
Output: 1
False Outbput: (delete the value here and leave it blank)
Target Signal: 1
With that the door will set off the explosives as soon as it's opened.
I.E. if you just wire a c4 to a buttons state options, then it works like a simple detonator, however if you instead wire it to a doors outgoing state.. then you have to be careful if it is already open or closed. I cannot remember which is which, but one state is 1 (active) and 0 (inactive), this can be offset or reversed with several different options when wiring, so you could even rather easily have it only go off when a door closes if you so desired.
I would never recommend setting it up to a motion sensor, unless you bring them along with you for laying 'claymores' on a wrecked sub if you have low amounts of people for outgoing missions to make sure you are safer.. or for some traitor missions im sure.
Personal recommendation: go into the submarine editor, pick whatever sub you would like to roam around in for a minute, just find/add a box on the submarine and add the explosives, and other tools you want to test out, and just go into test mode, never hurts to learn a little more how the game works after all!
