Question about hull shapes
So I am building my first ever sub, and I run into a small problem... I made the outside of the ship, which has some buffer zones under the hull. And when I test my ship, I usually cut one of the inside wall, separating that bufferzone, and water starts to break in immediatly, even though the outside of the ship is not damaged. I was wondering if its even possible to have such things on my sub? Do I have to designate a hull area in there? The shape of those rooms are really making it difficult to achive that kind of shape. Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance

A screenshot would help a lot!

so the parts in question are the ship nose, and the back part. I would love to make it as like crashzones, if the captain hits the ice, the water doesn't flood the ship immediatly

Alright, I hope I didn't misunderstand! You will have to make hulls ( "blue squares" in sub creator ) in the areas of the sub where the crew normally can't reach. If you can't put a single square in there because it's too round, you could add other small blue squares to cover the remaining area, just as long as you don't overlap unto other rooms.

ok! Thanks for the help! I will do so

One more question.... I guess I will have to link all the hull pieces together, or is it enough if I link one to another, then hat one to a third? Or all hulls have to be linked to all, if I want to have it as one piece... hope you understand my question :D

Cause I did it with small pieces of hull, and on the status monitor I see the individual hull parts... I would like to have it as one big "room"

I don't think it's possible to "link" them, you will have to deal with the small pieces on the monitor. That's the downside of it. :steamsad:

I see... thanks anyway! You helped a lot!

Yeah keep the inside walls closer to the hull so that when you weld it you're also welding the hull

you have to connect hulls using ''gaps'' that water is able to flow through the different hulls - only on hulls you want water to flow through, like hatches or doors for example.

ok I got that... its just a but strange that I see on the status monitor, small hools giving out that empty space. I was wondering if it is possible to make it one large room, cause as far as I know, we cannot make rounded hulls.

the best ''round'' hulls you could make are differently shaped rectangles, connected with a gap.

well.. trying my best... but building a sub is kinda difficult. I usually tend to underestimate my batterypark for instance. And when 90% of the ship is done, and you realize there is no more junction box left, usuall I scrap the plan and start allover. By the way... you guys recommend small pumps or ductblocks leading to the diving tanks, when it comes to get out the water from inside?

i use ductblocks, works fine.
